Cancellation & Non-Attendance Fees
We understand that unforeseen circumstances can sometimes prevent you from attending your appointment. However, late cancellations and missed appointments mean that another patient may miss the opportunity to receive care.
To help us manage appointments fairly and ensure availability for all patients, Newcastle Family Practice has the following cancellation and non-attendance fees:
Late cancellation – less than 4 hours’ notice: $50.00
Failure to attend – existing patient: $50.00
Failure to attend – new patient: $100.00
We kindly ask that you provide as much notice as possible if you are unable to attend your appointment.

Important Medicare Information
To be eligible to claim a Medicare benefit for a telehealth appointment, Medicare generally requires you to have had an in-person appointment for yourself at the practice within the previous 12 months.
If you have not had your own in-person appointment at the practice within the last 12 months, you may need to book an in-clinic appointment before you are eligible to claim a Medicare benefit for a telehealth consultation.
Please note: Bringing a child, family member or another person to their appointment does not count as an in-person appointment for you.
