We welcome new patients. Booking is easy: online any time, by phone during opening hours, or through the AMS Connect app. Check the Our team page to see which doctors are currently taking new patients.

Newcastle Family Practice is a private billing practice. Credit card details are required at the time of booking; no payment is taken then, but a fee may apply for missed or late-cancelled appointments.

Key points

  • Bring your Medicare card, any current medications or a list, and any relevant referrals or results.
  • If you'd like your records transferred from a previous GP, let reception know and we can help arrange it.
  • Telehealth is available, though Medicare generally requires an in-person visit within the last 12 months to claim a rebate.
  • Arrive a few minutes early for your first visit to complete a short new-patient form.
  • Some of our doctors use Lyrebird Health, a secure AI scribe, to help take consultation notes; they'll ask your consent first, and you can always say no.
