Our practice is a private billing practice, our doctors may offer a reduced fee at their discretion, reduced fee amounts vary depending on the nature and complexity of the consultation.
CANCELLATION FEES
We appreciate that unforeseen circumstances sometimes prevent patients from attending appointments. However, missed or late-cancelled appointments impact the care we can provide to others. For this reason, Newcastle Family Practice will be introducing the following fees from Wednesday 26th November 2025.
Late cancellation fee (less than 4 hours) $50.00
Failure to attend fee for existing patients $50.00
Failure to attend fee for new patients $100.00
These fees have only been introduced as a result of increasing cancellation and non-attendance.
Also please note that some of the doctors are contractors, and may charge differently to the standard fees given below. If you are concerned about fee differences, please call the practice for more information.

A number of Health assessments are fully-funded by Medicare, including:
- Senior Health Assessments (75 years and above)
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Assessments
- Chronic Disease Risk Health Assessments (45-49 years)
If you require a repeat prescription or referral you can request this with your regular GP through our booking web site or the Automed app , this incurs a $35.00 fee and is subject to your Doctor’s approval
